Atleti beat Rayo Majadahonda 5-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano on Thursday. Cunha, Lodi, Suárez, Griezmann and João Félix scored our goals to secure a spot in the Copa del Rey last 16.

Our team enjoyed a great start to the game – constantly attacking the visitors. Suárez almost scored early on, but goalkeeper Gorka got his hand to it. However, he injured himself while doing so, and was replaced by Álvaro Fernández. We scored shortly thereafter, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside position. Atleti kept pushing and eventually found the opener in the 17th minute through Cunha, who scored with the left foot from inside the box. Our team weren’t satisfied – so we continued to attack. We doubled our lead 26’ into the clash thanks to a fantastic Lodi strike. The Brazilian found the back of the net through an accurate left-foot strike. Simeone’s men took the foot off the pedal after that, but continued to dominate the match. In the dying minutes of the first half, Suárez made it 3-0.

We made a triple substitution at half-time as Vrsaljko, Koke and Correa replaced Giménez, Llorente and Cunha. Simeone made another switch some 10’ later, when Suárez and Lemar made way for João Félix and Griezmann. The Frenchman made it 4-0 through a fantastic team goal. Unfortunately, he was forced to leave the pitch with 15’ to go – meaning Atleti had to play with 10 men for the remainder of the game. João Félix scored a fantastic goal to net our fifth of the night. Atleti qualify for the last 16.
