Armbands in memory of two young men
The game we played at the National Stadium in Lima against Sporting Cristal in the Euro-American Cup served as a tribute to two deceased young Peruvian who passed away recently. Both teams wore armbands in their honour.
Our squad wanted to show unity with Sporting Cristal due to the death of two young Peruvian players. During the second match of Euro-American Cup played at the National Stadium in Lima, players wore armbands in memory of Yair Clavijo, who played in the youth of Sporting Cristal, and FCM, 15, who died while performing tests to enter the Peruvian academy. Before the meeting a minute's silence was observed in memory of the pair. Rest in peace.
