A special plane to make the trip to Astana
The red and white expedition will travel to Astana on a plane specially chartered for the longest trip of a Champions League match. Almost 7,000 kilometres separate us from the Kazakh city.
This Sunday, the Atlético de Madrid expedition will head to Astana (Kazakhstan) to play the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League. It's the longest trip that a team has to make in the European competition. In particular, 6.840 kilometres, approximately eight hours of flight.
Because of this, the company Air Europa has made available for the team an Airbus A330 with every convenience for a flight of these characteristics. It has 271 business seats, 388 seats being the maximum capacity of the aircraft. The pitch (the space between the legs and seat) is of 38 ", when it’s usually between 29" and 31".
The tables are on the sides of the seats, which recline 8º and have a footrest to make the effect of a bed that increases comfort. In addition, it has individual plugs to connect any electronic device.
