"Without the effort of the players, this would not be possible"
Diego Pablo Simeone spoke in the press room after the win against Sant Andreu. Content with the enthusiasm and willingness of the team, the Argentine said again that the most important thing about this team is the will and the group.
Simeone took stock of the game and congratulated Sant Andreu for the big game they played. "I think we had chances in the first half. I think with more speed and confidence we could have been resolved it long before we did. We have to congratulate the opponent who defended well with enthusiasm, passion and hard work. I’m happy for Hector as he was able to get the goal, it is important for him and his future. The second half we improved the speed and could have reached the goal more often".
The Argentine coach stressed the willingness and enthusiasm of the team in the second half. "I saw a lot of will and enthusiasm wanting to make things right. We went out as a block especially in the first half," he said.
"Football is football and all games can be complicated. They played a system defensive, something I thought was right, and from there began the game. It went well for them. It could have turned out better but in the last minute we won it. The team had situations but lacked speed and skill in the game. In the second half we had more ambition to win the game," he confessed.
