Gelson: "I'm here to help the team"

Gelson Martins was officially presented as an Atlético player.

Following Thomas Lemar's presentation on Monday, it was now Gelson Martin's turn to be officially presented as an Atlético at the auditorium in the Wanda Metropolitano. He was welcomed as a new 'rojiblanco' by club president Enrique Cerezo.

"Gelson, in this club we've had lots of Portuguese players who have become Atlético legends," Cerezo said. "We're positive you have everything to become an important player for Atlético de Madrid."

Gelson thanked the president for his kind words and once again stated how happy he is to join a club like ours.

"I'm very happy to be here. I promise to give it my all for the team," he said. "Simeone told me he really wanted me and that helped me decide to come."

He's been training with his teammates since last week and is excited to play for our club for the first time.

"I can give hard work to the team. I'm here to help the team win game by game," he continued. "The Wanda Metropolitano is a tremendous stadium and I hope to have success here."

Welcome to Atlético, Gelson!
