Villa started in the Spains return to Soccer City
The team lost in their return to Johannesburg where three years ago they were crowned world champion. Villa started and Koke played the final stretch.
Vicente del Bosque made changes for the game against South Africa with respect to the starting lineup on Saturday against Guinea. The coach called upon world champions and ten of the eleven players who started in the friendly at Soccer City are also in the photo of the world champions on the same stage three years ago.
David Villa was one of those chosen by the coach. The Spaniard played the first 57 minutes until his place was taken by Alvaro Negredo. Koke also played replacing Andres Iniesta in the 75th.
The South African team took the victory thanks to a goal from Parker scored in the 56th minute giving the Africans the win over the world champions.
