Valera: “We came to win and take an important step towards qualifying”
'Rosenborg will make things tough on us and will play differently than in Madrid”
Juan Valera was the player who appeared at the pre-game press conference alongside Quique Sánchez Flores before the team takes on Rosenborg. The defender from Murcia left it clear what the intentions of the ‘rojiblanco’ squad will be, as they’re not thinking about anything else other than beating the Norwegian side to try and ensure passage t the next round with a victory.
Valera stated that “we’ve come with the idea of playing a good game, of earning three points and taking a big step towards qualifying for the next round. We know that Rosenborg is going to makes things tough on us and will play differently than they did at the Calderón. Nevertheless, I’ll repeat that we’ve come here with the idea of winning.”
On a personal note, the defender acknolwedged that he’s in top shape and ready for whatever the manager needs him. “I’m better from the injury, which has been forgotten, and I’m available to the coach.”
He was asked if he is as excited to play against Rosenborg as against Real Madrid this Sunday. “We have a super-important match tomorrow. I get especially excited to play in every game. We’ll leave Sunday’s match for Sunday. We’re only thinking about Rosenborg and I’ll repeat that we’ve come here to win.”
