Our club has honoured Atlético de Madrid’s Women and Youth A teams for winning last Sunday the Queens Cup and the Youth King’s Cup. The squads and coaching staff of the teams attended the ceremony, as well as the families of the players, invited by the club to participate in the reception.

Miguel Ángel Gil, CEO of the club, was the first to take to the stage to congratulate the two champion teams. The CEO said: "We are proud to be able to enjoy a Sunday as the one we had. These titles allow us to confirm that the future of Atlético de Madrid is guaranteed."

After this, a video of the title won by Atlético de Madrid’s women’s team was projected, and Lola Romero said a few words: "All of you players are aware that we won more than a title on Sunday, because this is the first of many."

On behalf of the women's team, Ángel Villacampa, coach, and Amanda Sampedro, captain, also said a few words. Atlético’s coach said: "We knew it was going to be very complicated, but we had prepared the Cup thoroughly and it went like clockwork". For her part, Amanda said: "It has been a very difficult year. In the end, football gives you back everything it takes away, and it has done so with the Cup."

Afterwards, it was the turn for the Youth A. Óscar Fernandez, coach, and Antonio Montoro, captain, assessed the cup title. Atlético’s coach said: "This is the successful result of a job that begun with the Academy. Success will be that all these guys can someday play in the first team." Montoro was very proud for the double achieved: "Thank you all for coming to support us daily. We are very proud of all the shows of affection towards us."

The event finished with the intervention of Enrique Cerezo. The Chairman had words of appreciation for the two red and white teams: "The two squads are a perfect example of what Atlético de Madrid is today, a winning team, which always gives its all on the field and, above all, lives and plays based on values that are now a distinctive trait of the club, from the first team to the younger children of the Academy." Finally, both teams took to the stage to take the family photo with the cups glasses won this Sunday.

Congratulations champions!
