Tiago rejoins the teamwork during the session on Holy Thursday

The ‘rojiblancos’ work for an hour and a half at the Calderón

The Atlético de Madrid first squad trained behind closed doors for an hour and a half on the morning of Holy Thursday at Estadio Vicente Calderón. The session was the second consecutive practice in which the players helped out athletic brand Nike in testing the ball that they’re preparing for the Liga BBVA 2001-2012. These trials form part of an evaluation that the aforementioned brand is carrying out with various European clubs, including Club Atlético de Madrid.

Portuguese player Tiago was the main absence in the work session held at the Calderón, as he had previously received the Club’s permission to miss Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s session, as well. On the other hand, training with the first team were Atlético B players Regalón and Atienza. Godín only took part in the first stage of the practice due to the problems that he has been having in his groin. Koke and Fran Merida continued with their respective recoveries from injuries.

The ‘rojiblancos’ began the session with some 4v2s and then moved into a ball possession drills with large goals. After this, they carried out a 3-on-2 finishing exercise and wrapped up the day’s work with a practice match across the width of the pitch.
