THE SYMBOLIC ACT WILL TAKE PLACE BEFORE SUNDAY’S MATCH

The 'Olive Tree for Peace' was presented at the Vicente Calderón

The players of Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla will carry out a symbolic act next Sunday, in the moments prior to the match corresponding to the 21st round of the League.

The Vip lounge of the Vicente Calderón Stadium has held this Thursday the 'Olive Tree for Peace' event. The event was presided by Enrique Cerezo, Chairman of the Atlético de Madrid, and José María del Corral, Chairman of Scholas. Before next Sunday’s match against Sevilla, both teams will meet in the centre of the field moments before the initial whistle.

Enrique Cerezo opened the ceremony with words of thanks to everyone present: "Today, we present in our Stadium a symbolic gesture that follows the message of the Holy Father, and we do it with all our enthusiasm after the agreement signed last November with the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation in the Vatican in front of his Holiness Pope Francisco. I want to thank Scholas, and especially their leading managers, our friends José María de el Corral and Enrique Palmeyro, for having thought of our club to build peace through sport and education, as entrusted by the Holy Father."
