The Atlético players expressed their happiness after accomplishing the first big objective of the season.
Atlético’s locker room was happy after clinching first place at Juventus Stadium tonight. The Uruguayan Diego Godín said, "We’re thrilled for accomplishing the first big objective of the year. Qualifying for the Round of 16 on such a difficult field as today’s, keeping a clean sheet and playing a good match is what's important."
For his part, Mario Suárez acknowledged that, "We are on an ascending line. We need to stay on this line, go match-by-match, which is what’s made us get here. And we are going to continue this way." And he didn't rule on the next rival because, "in the Champions League, you find the best European teams and any team will be very difficult, but everyone knows that Atlético de Madrid is a great rival."
