The Atlético de Kolkata takes shape
The new team prepares to take part in the Indian Super League.
The Atlético de Kolkata project advances steadily. After its birth last April as a red and white franchise, the Club has now presented its shirt and shield at an event in Calcutta which was attended by the top executives of the new institution, political representatives and dozens of journalists amid great expectations.
The meeting also served to publicize two of the new template’s pillars. Antonio López Habas will be the team’s coach, a proven and internationally experienced coach. For his part, Luis García, former player from Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid and Liverpool, among others, was presented as the designated player.
The football player, who couldn’t attend the event, wanted to address the audience through a video, where he looked very happy with this new step in his career.
Atlético de Kolkata’s shirt will be, as could not be otherwise, red and white. Over their hearts, the players will wear a new badge, which was presented with a spectacular video. The emblem will be crowned with a winged Bengal tiger, half feline and half phoenix.
