Ten Atléticos pre-selected for the World Cup
Juanfran, Koke, Villa, Diego Costa, Godín, Giménez, C.Rodríguez, Courtois, Alderweireld and Sosa were chosen by their respective national coaches in the preliminary lists for the World Cup.
The team’s good season is reflected in this end of season after the national coaches of the 32 countries to play the World Cup, have made public the first list of football players from their respective countries who’ll play in Brazil.
With the Spanish team, Juanfran, Koke, Villa and Diego Costa will be a part of Vicente del Bosque’s pre-selection, which will dismiss seven players on May 25th. The national team is falls within Group B of the World Cup, along with the Netherlands, Chile and Australia.
On Uruguay’s side, Godín, Giménez and Cristian Rodríguez have made the list of 25 players made public by Óscar Washington Tabares. The Uruguayan team will play the first phase in group D with Italy, England and Costa Rica. Representing a South American team also, José Sosa has been selected by Sabella, the Argentinian coach. The Argentinian team will play in group F with Irán, Bosnia and Nigeria.
Furthermore, Courtois and Alderweireld will be part of the Belgian pre-selection. The Belgian team will play in the tournament’s group H and will play against Russia, Argelia and South Korea.
