Spain will defend title in Brazil 2014

The final day of World Cup qualifying ended with victory for Spain, 2-0 against Georgia with the current world champion sealing their place in Brazil, the hosts of next summer's World Cup. Juanfran started and played 90 minutes, whilst Koke came on in Albacete in the 65th minute.

Belgium, who had already sealed their passport to Brazil drew at home (1-1) against Wales with Courtois and Alderweireld starting the match.

Arda Turan will not be in the World Cup as Turkey lost any chance of being in Brazil after losing 0-2 in the visit of the almighty Netherlands.

Uruguay will play its World Cup qualifying play-off after defeating Argentina 3-2 in Montevideo, a game in which Cristian Rodriguez and Godin started with Gimenez also getting minutes. Jordan will be the opponent in the play off held in November with the prize of a place in Brazil 2014.

The Spanish Under-21s beat Hungary 1-0 thanks to a goal by Morata. Óliver Torres had a big part to play in the difficult game. Spain has four wins in four games at the half way stage in the group, 3 points above Austria.
