Simeone: "We’re only thinking about tomorrow’s match"
Diego Pablo Simeone answered the media before travelling to Coruña. The coach acknowledges that Deportivo’s need is going to require a lot of work from his team.
Regarding what happened with Mandžukić after Tuesday’s match, in which he said that there was no bite from Carvajal, the coach said, "I focus on the nobility of a man as Mandžukić. It’s what I value most. Beyond the tough competition of a match, he is transparent after the game and demonstrated that he is a noble guy."
Our coach stressed, "We have to think about playing a good match tomorrow and be strong to play against a rival that has needs, the same ones we have but in a different manner. We are only thinking about tomorrow’s match. Tomorrow’s is a classic game of a team that fights to not descend and that will demand us to be at our best level. This fixture is key because it’s the next one and because we need to keep competing with Valencia and Sevilla in an extraordinary way."
As to the position of Koke on the pitch, he considers that "I have it clear that I see Koke more and more with the possibility of playing in the centre with another midfielder. I imagine that it will happen with more continuity next year. Tomorrow it can be a possibility. Tactically he is almost perfect. He is a player that I like very much in that position and I am convinced that with the passing of the months we will see him more in that position in the midfield than on the wing."
