Simeone: "We worked very hard in the first half"

After our debut in the Copa del Rey, Diego Pablo Simeone spoke to the press and analyzed the match.
“We worked very hard in the first half and we had lots of chances. In the second half, Elche started off well and earned a penalty. After that moment, we had chances to settle the knockout round, but we’ll have to do so in the return leg,” he said.
Even though the result wasn’t what he wanted, Simeone praised the youngsters who made their debuts for the club.
“Sergi played very well and Toni Moya played calmly, even though the match was anything but calm because of the result. He played with personality and we like that.”
Lastly, our coach talked about the quantity of chances the team created, especially in the first half.
“I’m leaving with a positive feeling because we had lots of chances and when that’s the case, you have chances to win,” he continued. “We have to keep working hard.”
