THE ARGENTINE IS PLEASED WITH HIS TEAM QUALIFYING FOR LAST 16

Simeone : "We work hard, the team is continually growing"

Diego Pablo Simeone admitted at a press conference he was "happy and satisfied" with the way the players won the game. In addition, the Argentine said the team "grows " every day and has more and better alternatives to deal with any game.

Simeone spoke in the press room about the emotions and pressure after inding out that the Porto and Zenit ended in draw resulting in them leading group. "Actually I'm happy and joyful, because of the draw between Porto and Zenit. We knew we had the chance to be first, we had that pressure and the players in the first half settled the match with goals. In the second half we gave Guilavogui minutes as he gradually integrates and he did very well. With the passing of the days he will have more minutes."

The coach from Buenos Aires stressed the importance of set pieces work to resolve matches. "It is always important we work on the issue of dead balls. Adrian Costa, Godin, Raul, are great players and we knew we had a major advantage from set pieces. We were able to capitalize on these moves."

"Villa did not play due to a technical decision. Adrian picked up an ankle injury. We understood that Guilavogui had to have minutes and Diego Costa did not come back out because we decided to give him a rest along with the people that have done a great job so far" said Simeone.

Despite the classification and the results that are occurring in the League Simeone kept his philosophy of "going game by game. We go game by game and in the Champions League we go with the same desire and the same humility. We know our problems and what our opportunities are. We look forward to playing every game to be touched in the same way," he said.
