AFTER THE WIN AT RZD ARENA

Simeone: “We were clinical in the second half”

Our coach, Arias, Joao Félix, Felipe and Oblak shared their thoughts on Tuesday’s 2-0 win.

Simeone praised our team’s second half effectiveness following Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Lokomotiv Moscow.

“Tonight’s match was tough. Lokomotiv Moscow defend very well. We had good chances in the first half that the keeper did well to save. We were clinical in the second half and managed to score twice early on,” the Argentine said.

Arias, who played the full game in Moscow, was very happy with the team’s performance.

“We knew it would be a tough game. I think we played excellently and earned three important points. I work hard to take my chances and I’m happy and proud to have played,” the Colombian said.

Joao Félix scored his first Champions League goal on Tuesday, but was especially happy to earn the three points.

“We played very well and earned the three points, which is the most important thing. We will do everything possible to win the upcoming games as well,” the Portuguese said.

Felipe urged the team to keep working hard ahead of our next match.

“It felt very good to play again. I continue to work hard in order to help the team. Now we must be prepared for our next game, like we were today,” the Brazilian said.

Oblak was happy with the score and his outstanding double save.

“I’m happy about the win and my saves. Luckily, we kept a clean sheet. Had they gone 2-1, it would have been a much tougher game for us,” the Slovenian said.
