Simeone: "We needed to go to win the match"
Atlético’s coach assesed the win at El Arcángel and stressed the importance of the collective effort.
Diego Pablo Simeone appeared at the press conference following our team’s win in Córdoba (0-2): "The team came out with the idea of what they needed to do in the game and could solve it in 20 minutes. That allowed us to handle the match more calmly."
Simeone stressed the importance of having control of the game for most of it: "The best thing of our team was how it took the field, how it interpreted what it had to begin and then controlled it, giving the feeling that the match was controlled."
Lastly, the Argentinian coach stressed the importance of maintaining the intensity in the day-to-day: "We need the group to interpret that we are going to need everyone and it has to be soon. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10, 20, or 60 minutes. What matters is doing it well when we need them because I believe that we have an important staff."
