Simeone: "We have construed the match quite well"

Diego Pablo Simeone analysed the red and white victory against Hospitalet in the King's Cup (0-3). The Argentinian coach highlighted his players' good attitude during the Cup commitment; "We construed the match quite well. In the second half, we improved our game and when Griezmann entered the match, the team grew offensively and everyone improved. From Jiménez and Cerci to Lucas, who played a good match for being so young."

Simeone acknowledged the difficult moments Hospitalet posed in the fixture; "In the first half, they blocked well, they had a good tactical approach to close our gaps. It left a good image, especially for everything they did in the first half."

After the victory, Atlético’s coach said the team is solely focused on the next match, "We are very respectful with football and we understand the only way to compete is to think of Elche. The second leg will come in time."
