Simeone was honored by Estudiantes
Diego Pablo Simeone had a special match in the Estadio Unico de La Plata. The Atletico Madrid coach received homage from his former team before the game as he was given commemorative plaque.
Pablo Simeone lead Estudiantes de La Plata to the title in 2006 and left a mark on the side. On the occasion of this visit to the dispute the Copa Euro-American, Estudiantes presented the coach of Atletico Madrid with a plaque to honour Simeone.
The plate contained the following inscription: "Thank you unforgettable Cholo. Your mystical winning mark will remain forever in our glorious history." El Cholo left his mark on the club and with that honour, the directors of Estudiantes presented him with it in front of the fans before the game in recognition of the work and commitment in his time at the club.
