Simeone: "There is nothing to reproach the team"
The coach highlighted the work of the team and stressed the defensive strength shown by our team and acknowledged that the team needs to grow offensively.
Diego Pablo Simeone analysed the game against Astana and explained that "for those who haven’t seen Astana play as a local, this tie surely wouldn’t enter into their calculations. The game has not surprised me. I said it in advance that it was going to be a hard, difficult match and it was. But I have nothing to reproach the team."
Atlético’s coach appreciated the effort of his players: "The team worked and is strong. Defensively they still aren’t creating opportunities and we obviously need to grow offensively where we need more clarity in the last metres."
Simeone is already thinking about the next match: "We knew that losing against Benfica at home would make it uphill and now we have to play a good match against Galatasaray and hope to win," he concluded.
