Simeone: "The players were brilliant"

Diego Pablo Simeone attended the press conference after victory against Betis. The coach said that he was proud of the work of all the members of staff and stressed again the collective strengths of his team.

Simeone said in the press room of the Vicente Calderon that his side played well in both halves. In the first half, after getting the goal in the first minute, and another in the second half, where his players put in a brilliant performance. "I think we started very well, once we found that goal. After that goal we faded a bit in the game, we lost a bit of the intensity. After 30 minutes we started to play better. The second half the players took the field determined to put the game to bed and deserved what they got. The players were brilliant."

For Simeone the most important thing to come out of the game was to see that one day players do not play for a minute and the next day they complete the 90 minutes on the pitch kept the same level of concentration and motivation. "What I take away from today is that the other day Villa did not play and Raul got the goals, so we gave him 15 minutes. Today Óliver entered and played well, Adrian has come and done his job, Toby Alderweireld the other day....Whoever it is that goes in does well, I think of all this and I get a lot of joy from the game today," he said.

David Villa returned to the score sheet after a few days without a goal. For Simeone, it is important that a player of the hierarchy and importance of Villa scores again, as it is what he lives off. "Villa was looking good and in the second half got the goals, which is what he lives off. He did well with both chances.” He said.

Finally, the Atletico coach spoke about Óliver Torres scorer of the first goal of the match. "He did well at times, and others times he did not find his way in the game. We need much more from Óliver. He's young and all this serves to gain confidence, he is a player who at times the team needs, as a coach I feel comfortable to use him and he respond well to the demands that we set," he concluded .
