Simeone: "The players played with heart"
Diego Pablo Simeone analyzed our victory against Roma.
After our win against Roma in the Wanda Metropolitano, Diego Pablo Simeone analyzed the victory.
"We had the responsibility to win this match and now Roma have to beat [Qarabag]," he said. "We also have the obligation to win in London."
Atlético were obligated to beat Roma and Simeone is satisfied with what he saw on the pitch.
“It wasn’t very different from our match in Rome,” he said. “But this time we were able to finish our chances.”
Simeone thanked the fans for their continuous support and was proud of his players’ effort.
“Even before the match kicked off, we were already winning the match because of the fans’ continuous support,” he continued. “The players responded the way the fans wanted and played with heart.”
Lastly, our coach spoke fondly of Antoine Griezmann's goal.
"It was a 'golazo', a goal that reflects his ability. Hopefully it's the first of the many more that will follow."
