Simeone prepares the game against Sevilla
Atletico Madrid trained for the first time this week at the Cerro del Espino. Without the internationals, Diego Pablo Simeone held a tactical training session to begin to outline the first league match against Sevilla on Sunday.
After the rest day with the coaching staff on campus yesterday Atletico training again at Majadahonda Sports City with an evening session in which the whole squad began to prepare for the match against Sevilla in the first commitment of the league season.
The training, which was extended for one hour and forty minutes, began with a first half-hour of warm ups with ball exercises. A passing circuit then took place before a transition rondo looking at the attack – defense transition.
To cover the loss of the six international, Koke, Arda, Courtois, Bono, Cristian Rodriguez and Godin, Simeone called up Borja Martinez and Nana from Atletico B to help out in the tactical session. A part that consisted of tactical exercises in confined space looking at defensive pressure and offensive strategy.
Tomorrow, Atletico will train at 9:30 to continue preparing for the important game against Seville.
