THE ARGENTINE CONSIDERS THE DERBY AGAINST GETAFE AS A VERY DANGEROUS GAME

Simeone: "Our football is neither the best nor the worst, we try to maintain a style"

Diego Pablo Simeone spoke at the press room of the Vicente Calderon before the league game against Getafe. The Argentine said that Getafe will make things difficult but his side will go out and look to play their style of play looking for a win that will allow us to continue at the top of the table.

Simeone showed his happiness that Godin, Cristian Rodriguez and Giménez have recently qualified for the World Cup in Brazil. The coach said "I'm happy for them, I am pleased for the three of them because Uruguay will again be in the World Cup”

Asked about his style of play, the coach said that his work is always focused on finding the best version of their game. "No doubt there are other ways of playing football. Ours is neither the best nor the worst, everyone competes with the weapons they have and we will not aspire to be anyone different. Since I got here I told that my quest is to improve the players trying to play the best way to feel comfortable. We are trying to play with a style and hopefully we can keep that, because it's more difficult."

With less than 24 hours until the match against Getafe, Simeone trained for the first time this week with all his squad. Far from being alarmed , our coach considered "the situation as normal." "We have to learn and adapt to what is coming. Today is the first day that we are together and from that the team will play tomorrow," he reiterated.

Simeone praised Getafe, especially for their ability to get out of complex situations. "Getafe is a tough team. What I always like about them is that they always get out of difficult situations such as early in the season, and suddenly you find them competing for European places just seven days later. They are a tidy team with a lot of speed up front and very dangerous on the ball”.

Finally, the Argentine coach talked about Atletico forwards, who are trying to recover from their ailments to be fit for the derby. "Villa trained yesterday with us and Diego trained with Pitillas. Today they all train and therefore we will decide what is best for the team. Adrian and Leo are trying to overcome some discomfort in their ankles. Everyone is fighting to be the best to face the game tomorrow and after training we will make decisions," he said.
