Simeone moves 19 to Bilbao
Diego Pablo Simeone called 19 players to undertake one of the most difficult games of the season in San Mamés, against Athletic de Bilbao. Filipe Luis is back after his sanction for 5 yellow cards.
Atlético completed their last preparatory training before travelling to Bilbao to face Athletic Club and maintain the League’s leadership. The Atlético coaching team designed a one hour and a quarter long session in field 1 Majadahonda’s Sports City, where they first worked the physical part, and ended reviewing the tactics to be used on Saturday in San Mamés.
After the session, Diego Pablo Simeone provided the line-up where 19 players can be found: Courtois, Aranzubía, Juanfran, Alderweireld, Godín, Miranda, Filipe, Insua, Gabi, Mario Suárez, Tiago, Cristian Rodríguez, Arda, Koke, Diego Ribas, Sosa, Raúl García, David Villa and Diego Costa. Adrián y Giménez are not in the list due to a technical decision, and Manquillo, who’s still working on his recovery process. Athletic Club squad list is formed by: Iraizoz, Toquero, Laporte, Erik Morán, San José, Beñat, Iturraspe, De Marcos, Albizua, Iago Herrerín, Susaeta, Iraola, X.Etxeita, Mikel Rico, Muniain, Aduriz, Saborit, Balenziaga, Guillermo.
The Atlético expedition will travel by plane to Basque lands at eight o’clock this evening to concentrate in the Carlton Hotel to finalize the details of one of the most complicated visits of the season.
