MATCH PREVIEW | MLS ALL-STARS - ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Simeone looks to keep improving as Atleti gear up for MLS All-Star Game

Our team will face a squad of Major League Soccer stars at Florida’s Orlando City Stadium.

Atleti are ready for the MLS All-Star Game. Simeone’s side will face a squad of Major League Soccer – a competition made up by 24 clubs from the US and Canada – stars at Florida’s Orlando City Stadium.

It will be the 24th edition of the MLS All-Star Game. Since its inception in 1996, big European clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, AS Roma and Bayern Munich have participated in the event.

The game will be our fourth pre-season test, following the wins over Numancia, Chivas and Real Madrid. It will also be our fourth stop of the US Summer Tour. Simeone spoke about what he expected from these matches.

“We’re currently in pre-season. The players have to get game time. These kinds of matches are important to lay the foundation for the upcoming season. We want to keep improving and winning games,” the Argentine said.

Savic spoke about the players’ hunger.

“We have a strong squad and it’s an exciting season. We have players who are very hungry to win and that’s our goal, whether it’s a friendly, a league game or a Champions League match,” our defender said.

Koke also spoke ahead of the game.

“It’s an honour to represent Atlético de Madrid in these kinds of matches. We are very excited and we hope it will be a great game,” our captain said.

Orlando City Stadium – the venue for the game – is home to Orlando City Soccer Club, hosts 25,500 spectators and was inaugurated on March 5, 2017.
