Simeone: "It was a hard-fought match"
The red and white coach analysed the draw that puts our team in the Final Round of 16 of the King’s Cup.
Diego Pablo Simeone analysed the pass to King’s Cup knockout stage after the tie of Atlético with L'Hospitalet (2-2). The Argentinian coach spelled out the match played at the Vicente Calderón: "It was a hard-fought match. We started well and in the second half, when it seemed that we had the match settled, the players of L'Hospitalet reacted very well."
Simeone praised the work of Mario Mandzukic, author of our team’s two goals: "He has scored very important goals like the onefrom the Super Cup against Real Madrid and he has very positive numbers for a striker. Let’s hope that he keeps responding like this, and better."
Simeone stressed the importance of having achieved a spectacular 2014: "The year has provided us with wonderful feelings. We have only lost one match at the Calderón and that speaks highly of the work done by the players. I hope that we can start the coming year in the same way."
