Simeone and Griezmann, shortlisted for the Best FIFA
Our head coach and our forward have been shortlisted by FIFA for the award that recognizes the best coach and the best player of the past season.
Diego Pablo Simeone and Antoine been Griezmann have been chosen as candidates for FIFA’s The Best award for the best coach and the best player of last season. Our manager has entered the list of 12 finalists who can win the award and Griezmann will fight with another 24 players to be named the top football player of the past campaign.
Besides Simeone, Luis Enrique, Zinedine Zidane, Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Leonardo Jardim, Joachim Löw, Jose Mourinho, Adenor Leonardo Bacchi 'Tite' and Mauricio Pochettino have been nominated.
In the men’s player's category, Griezmann will compete with: Messi, Suárez, Iniesta, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kroos, Modric, Carvajal, Keylor, Ramos, Marcelo, Buffon, Aubameyang, Bonucci, Dybala, Hazard, Ibrahimovic, Kane, Lewandowski, Alexis Sánchez, and Arturo Vidal.
Last season, Atlético, with Simeone in charge, managed to finish LaLiga third, qualifying for the fifth year in a row for the Champions League and, in addition, the team played the semi-finals of the King’s Cup and the Champions League.
