EUROPA LEAGUE | MATCH PREVIEW

Round of 16 clash against Lokomotiv Moscow

Our side will host the Russian Premier League leaders at 7 p.m. CET.

The Europa League returns to the Wanda Metropolitano. AT 7 p.m. CET, we'll host Lokomotiv Moscow for the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.

The Russian side qualified for this stage of the competition after eliminating Nice in the Round of 32. On the other hand, we eliminated FC Copenhagen. This will be the second time we face Lokomotiv Moscow and the first we host them in Madrid.

Lokomotiv are in first place in the Russian Premier League, with a seven point cushion over FC Krasnodar. On the weekend, they faced city rivals Spartak Moscow in a nil-nil draw. Meanwhile, our side is in fine form in the Wanda Metropolitano. In our stadium, we've won the last five matches in all competitions.

Diego Pablo Simeone expects a tough match against a good Lokomotiv Moscow.

“I don’t think Lokomotiv rely on just one player,” he said. “They play like a team.”
