THE MIDFIELDER KNOWS THE IMPORTANCE OF GAME AGAINST ESPANYOL

Raul Garcia: "We know that Saturday's game is important against a team that is doing well"

After training this morning Raul Garcia appeared before the media. The midfielder spoke about he feels after his injury and how important Saturday's game against Espanyol is for the team.

After the ankle injury suffered, Raul Garcia is fully recovered. "I’ve been working with the group for a few days in training. Ankle injuries are what they are, there is still pain but slowly it’s feeling better. All players want to play, the team is doing good and we want to keep things going".

The Atletico player spoke of his role in the team, but he did not say anything about a possible renewal. "we have companies that deal with that and I’ve always said that until things are resolved we won’t say anything." Raul is only thinking about continuing to work as before to continue helping the team: "I always work in the same way and if there are things not related to sports, then my agent deals with that, and at the time a decisions has to be made, I talk to them.”

The Atletico player has made clear he is very happy at the club and in the squad. "I always said that I feel very comfortable here. I feel very integrated, because I’ve been here many years. The idea is to continue in this line because things are going well. The club is doing things well.

As for this weekend, Diego Simeone will complete one hundred games leading the team match in Saturday against Espanyol. For Raul , the job of the coach is exemplary and the results confirm this. "At the end the results speak for themselves. You only need to look at those figures. The coach since arriving is doing very well, he and his technical group. We want is to continue in this line of good results and hopefully there’ll be many more than one hundred game we can continue talking about the good results."

Because of the success of the team in Europe there is much talk of Atletico Madrid. Raul believes that respect it is down to the work every day. "You earn respect with the results you've been getting. When you’re getting the results everyone wants to know what we have done. What the team wants is to follow this line. Going from game to game. It's an idea we have, an idea that has gone well so far and how we want to continue."
