Jan Oblak is the goalkeeper chosen by UEFA Champions League for the best XI of the first stage of the competition, after keeping four clean sheets and saving a penalty on matchday one against PSV.
The XI is completed by the defenders Mathias Jørgensen (Copenhagen), Sergio Escudero (Sevilla) and Ludwig Augustinsson (Copenhagen); the midfielders Mesut Özil (Arsenal), André Silva (Porto), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) and Ricardo Quaresma (Besiktas) and the forwards Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Edinson Cavani (PSG) and Dries Mertens (Naples).
