Enrique Cerezo welcomed Nehuén to our club.

"Today we welcome a player in whom we have great expectations and trust," our President said.

Cerezo added that our new defender has a very bright future ahead of him.

"Nehuén Pérez has all the attributes that our scouts look for in young players. Despite his age, Nehuén stands out for his personality and leadership in the heart of the defence, as he showed at Argentinos Juniors and at the Argentine national youth teams," our President said.

I'm a young centre-back. I'm here to learn and to give it my all

Nehuén also highlighted the importance that Simeone had in his decision.

"Simeone and Berta have given me a lot of confidence. They told me to work hard and that soon I would be here. And here I am. I came here to grow as a player and to learn. I try to listen to everything that Simeone says. I'm young but I have to learn fast. I hope to leave my mark at Atlético de Madrid," the defender said.

Nehuén arrives at our club as a very promising defender. He recently played the 2019 South American U-20 Championship, in which he captained his side and led the back line. He played for Argentinos Juniors in the Superliga Argentina and trained with his national team's senior squad ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

After the press conference was over, Enrique Cerezo presented Nehuén with his new shirt with number 18 on the back. The defender then posed with his new shirt alongside Enrique Cerezo and Andrea Berta.
