The Balearic goalkeeper appeared at a press conference after Thursday morning’s training. Moya commended the pre-season, his competition with Jan Oblak at the red and white goal and the arrival of Raúl Jiménez to our Club.

One of the aspects that most pleasantly surprised Miguel Ángel Moya is the good defensive work the red and white team has: "The strong defence is one of the team’s characteristics. Other than the strength, there are practically no cracks in the team; the rival’s chances are pretty slim". For the Balearic goalkeeper, the continuity of many of his teammates is one of the pillars of the team: "The idea of the team is very well ingrained, the backbone of the team is still here and the concepts are very clear".

“The good vibes with Oblak can be felt every day. Jan has come back in good shape, eager, with intensity, with strength and from close by I see he’s doing well. The rivalry will be healthy and clean", said Moya regarding the return to training of Oblak, with whom he maintains a good relationship: “Every day, you can feel our good atmosphere and good vibes".

Moya was ambitious in the personal sphere, promising to deliver in each training session to satisfy Diego Pablo Simeone: "The goal I have set myself is to be competent, to make the coach happy. I said it on the day of my presentation: other than to compete, I’ve come to add".

The feelings that the pre-season has left in Atlético’s goal have been positive, stressing that "We’ve had no goals in virtually every game". Moya highlighted the collective action in the last match against VfL Wolfsburg, which was won by 1-5 by Atlético: "We were more successful than other days when we didn't have so many chances to score. It’s been very good for us, for the attacking players, to see how we are able to score goals and win games doing that type of football also". Lastly, Moya commented on the signing of the Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez: "We met him at the match against América and I thought he was a great forward".
