Madrid Derby ends in a goalless draw

Our team drew 0-0 against Real Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.

Atleti drew 0-0 against Real Madrid on Saturday at the Wanda Metropolitano. Our team had several chances to score the winner, but the derby ultimately ended in a goalless draw.

Our team had the first chance of the game as Costa found Félix, but the Portuguese fired wide. Costa later was very close to connecting with a beautiful Thomas cross, but the ball was cleared in front of Courtois’ goal. Joao Félix had another chance from outside the box, but he struck just wide, and Kroos answered with a shot that was saved in style by Oblak. The lads kept pushing until the end of the first half, but we reached half-time with score at 0-0.

Vitolo was taken off at the break due to muscle pain, and Correa came on for him. The Argentine had a good chance to score very early on as he headed wide a Diego Costa cross. Real Madrid answered through Bale who was also off target a while later. Lodi and Joao Félix made way for Lemar and Llorente throughout the second half. 15 minutes before the end, Benzema had a big chance to score, but his header was met with a majestic save from Oblak. Atleti pushed until the end and collected a couple of good chances, but ultimately the Madrid Derby ended in a draw.
