ATLÉTICO DE MADRID 'FÉMINAS' WAS ESTABLISHED IN THE 2001/2002 SEASON

Until now, more than 50 players have been able to represent the Spanish National Team

Atlético de Madrid Féminas was established in the 2001/2002 season after the disappearance of the Coslada FC Femenino. María Vargas -current Football Manager of the team- and Lola Romero -President of Atlético de Madrid Féminas- supported by 36 players that belong either to the first team or to the academy of the womens section of Coslada, looked for sport asylum at Atlético de Madrid for them to restore a womens team.

During the second year of live, the team decided to bring together entrance tests to which about 250 girls took part. It was then when the academy was established. Three years after its creation, the club recognized the effort of all these players allowing them to train at the Training Ground of Majadahonda.

Till now, more than 50 players have been able to represent the Spanish National Team in it's different categories, and more than 150 have done the same with the Team of Madrid. Today, we have 200 players distributed within 12 teams and 2 specialized schools.
