Juanfran Torres said: "It was my turn. It’s my first penalty with Atleti and the first one I score. Let’s hope that in the future I don’t have to do this again because it was a great suffering, but if I have to, I would do it again."

For his part, Giménez said: "Today’s was a fantastic game, beautiful. We are very pleased with the victory and with the fans, they were amazing."

Fernando Torres said: "It has come in a hard way for everyone, the fans, the players... Now we have to think that on Saturday we have a match and we have to recover after 120 minutes, but as always when you win, it was worthwhile.

Oblak noted: "This is very important for the club and the players. We all want to be among the best and that the club continues to grow."

Kranevitter highlighted: "I'm going home happy. I had never lived a Champions League, so I'm happy for the victory. In Argentina we also suffer a lot, but the most beautiful thing is to pass."

Lastly, Griezmann said: "It will be beautiful in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and if our fans are like they were today, it will be difficult for any rival."
