Juanfran extended his contract until 2017
The club has completed the renovation of one of the key pieces of the current squad. The Spain international is delighted with the agreement and will look to continue to improve every day.
Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Juanfran Torres to extend his contract until June 30th 2017. The fullback joined the club half way through the 201011 season, becoming a key player in the last two seasons. Juanfran who has been converted into a right fullback has emerged as one of the best players in the team in recent seasons, becoming part of the Spanish team that won the European Championship finals in Poland and Ukraine. The player from Alicante has played 111 official matches for Atletico, scoring three goals. He also became the player of 2012 by winning the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup with Atletico Madrid and the European Championship with the Spanish team.
Juanfran expressed his satisfaction at the renewal and thanked all the support he’s received since his arrival at the club: "First I want to thank the club and the coach for all the confidence they have in me. I'm very proud to wear this shirt for many years to come."
He claimed that his aim is still to give his all for the club: "I want to be better every day and continue to give joy to the fans, that is the highest priority in my life."
Jose Luis Perez Caminero said he was "very satisfied with the agreement reached with Juanfran, as he has become a very important player for us, giving us speed and delivery one the flanks...also personally he his very optimistic because he transmits very good messages to the players, a great teammate and a person who adds a lot to the group, he is loved in the dressing room, by the club and the fans."
