João Félix shortlisted for Ballon d'Or and Kopa Trophy, Oblak for Yashin Trophy

The Portuguese forward is among the 30 finalists for the award that distinguishes the world’s best player in 2019, as well as the best under-21 footballer. The Slovenian has been shortlisted for the best goalkeeper.

France Football have announced that João Félix has been shortlisted for the 2019 Ballon d'Or and Kopa Trophy, which distinguish the world’s best player and best under-21 footballer of the year, respectively.

Following his recent nomination for the Golden Boy award, the Portuguese forward is now also among the 30 finalists for the Ballon d'Or, alongside Eden Hazard, Marquinhos, Raheem Sterling, Lionel Messi, Riyad Mahrez, Kevin De Bruyne, Kalidou Koulibaly, Antoine Griezmann, Virgil van Dijk, Bernardo Silva, Heung-min Son, Robert Lewandowski, Roberto Firmino, Cristiano Ronaldo, Alisson, Matthijs de Ligt, Karim Benzema, Georginio Wijnaldum, Kylian Mbappé, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Donny van de Beek, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marc-André ter Stegen, Sadio Mané, Sergio Agüero, Frenkie De Jong, Hugo Lloris and Dusan Tadic.

Moreover, João Félix has been nominated for the Kopa Trophy, which was born in 2018 and was won last year by Kylian Mbappé. Our striker will compete against Vinicius (Real Madrid), Lunin (Valladolid), Kang-In Lee (Valencia), Chukwueze (Villarreal), De Ligt (Juventus), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen), Matteo Guendouzi (Arsenal) and Moise Kean (Everton) for this award.

On the other hand, Jan Oblak has been nominated for the Yashin Trophy, which distinguishes the world’s best goalkeeper in 2019. The Slovenian will be competing against Kepa (Chelsea), Handanovic (Inter Milan), Lloris (Tottenham), ter Stegen (FC Barcelona), Alisson (Liverpool), Neuer (Bayern), Ederson (Manchester City), Onana (Ajax) and Szczesny (Juventus).

Moreover, Atlético de Madrid Femenino goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal has been nominated for the Women's Ballon d'Or, alongside Sarah Bouhaddi (O. Lyon), Lucy Bronze (O. Lyon), Nilla Fischer (Linköpings), Pernille Harder (Wolfsburg), Amandine Henry (O. Lyon), Sam Kerr (Chicago Red Stars), Dzsenifer Marozsan (O. Lyon), Viviane Miedema (Arsenal), Alex Morgan (Orlando Pride), Ellen White (Manchester City), Megan Rapinoe (Reign FC), Lieke Martens (FC Barcelona), Wendie Renard (O.
