Jan Oblak reached 200 official matches for Atleti during Saturday’s clash against Alavés.
The goalkeeper, who joined our club in the 2014-15 season, has since played 145 games in LaLiga, 42 in the Champions League, six in the Europa League, six in the Copa del Rey and one in the UEFA Super Cup. He has kept 113 clean sheets in the process.
Since he arrived at our club, the Slovenian has won one Spanish Super Cup (2014), one Europa League (2017-18) and one UEFA Super Cup (2018), as well as several individual trophies that recognize him as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
Oblak’s list of awards includes the last three Zamora Trophies. His average of 0.47 goals conceded per match in the 2015-16 season is the best ever ratio in LaLiga, tied with Francisco Liaño’s 1993-94 record.
Moreover, our goalkeeper made the UEFA Champions League Team of the Year in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and the Europa League Team of the Year in the 2017-18 season. He was also named Slovenian Footballer of the Year in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
