"I'm excited to play in the Champions League with Atletico"

Thibaut Courtois this afternoon answered questions from fans on the official Facebook page of the team, it was a good opportunity to learn a little more about last seasons Zamora of the League. The Belgian goalkeeper spoke of his day to day life at Atletico, what excites him and even his food preferences. So the interview was 'social' between our fans and Thibaut.

Thibaut Courtois: Let’s start with the questions (I will get some help a bit from the club with the spelling) ;)

Carmen Zuniga: Hello, Thibu. How do you feel about playing in the Champions League with Atleti? What are your expectations? Can you see yourself in a Champions League final? I really hope you stick with Atletico. Do not go, this is your club.

Thibaut Courtois:Thanks for the questions! I’ve wanted to play in the Champions League since childhood and I am thrilled to do with Atleti. You have to give everything, but thinking game by game. This has served us well!

Laura Perez : Hello Thibaut, I wondered if you had a hard time to adapt to Spain and Spanish football. Thank you very much and good luck at Atleti.

Thibaut Courtois : It was easier than I thought because my colleagues and the people at the club helped me. With regard to football, in Belgium it is more physical and here there is more possession, but I'm used to it. The support of the fans also made it easier me. From the first game they have always been there. Thank you!

Piku Oterino : When you were in Genk , did it go through your head that you’d play in a club as big as Atleti ? I'm your fan club instagram!

Thibaut Courtois : When I started at Genk I dreamed of being at a big club like Atletico, but only wanted to focus on playing well. Everything else was happening too fast. A big heloo to my instagram fan club! ;)

Thibaut Courtois : A tall, strong defender, with a good strike and very good in the air. I’m sure he will do well at Atletico! Thanks for asking Carlos!

Fran López Fernández : When you were little who did you look up to?

Thibaut Courtois : I watch Van der Sar a lot because we have similar styles. We’re tall keepers, but agile. Or at least I try! ;)

Torrico Ivan Lorenzo : When you arrived at Athletic 3 years did you expect to win a UEFA Cup , a UEFA Super Cup , a Copa del Rey and be the Zamora of La Liga?

Thibaut Courtois : I always expect to win titles when you’re at a big club like Atletico, but I never imagined winning so much in so little time. We always want more, but with humility.

Borrell Cova de Paz : You are of the best goalkeepers who have gone through Atleti. We love you!

Thibaut Courtois :And I love the fans! Forza Atleti!

Noemi Najarro Thibu , how’re you mate? What has been your best moment as an Atleti player? What do you think of the red and white fans?

Thibaut Courtois : Winning the Cup at the Bernabeu was special and to celebrate in Neptune was great. Aupa Atleti!

Andrés García Galán : Thibu , which teammate makes you laughs the most? Thanks & greeting!

Thibaut Courtois : With all get along very well. We have a great changing room and laugh a lot. Greetings!

Thibaut Courtois : As a child I wanted to be a PE teacher. I loved the profession and teaching children. Thanks for your question!

Gustavo Rios : How do you see Belgium for the World Cup 2014 ? Do they look like the revelation of Europe?

Thibaut Courtois : Thanks for writing! We have a young but very talented group, with experience and quality. You have to go game by game and see where we get. Greetings!

Juampe Rodríguez Cano : Whats more difficult for you, games with lots of chances or games with few chances like Almeria?

Thibaut Courtois : In all matches I have to stay focused, but when they have less chances, it’s more difficult . Thank you!

Eric Mancha Estella : Hi Thibaut , I too am a goalkeeper and I 'd like to get some advice on how not to burn myself when I dive on dry fields. Keep it up and if it's at Atletico, even better.

Thibaut Courtois : I always wear a undershirt and pants for protection, but still sometimes I get burns. Thanks for the support!

Eva Herbert :Hi Thibaut ! What is your favorite Spanish food?

Thibaut Courtois : I love Gazpacho and Iberian ham!

Francisco Padilla Lorenzo : As a goalkeeper Courtois is excellent, but as a person he is even better.

Thibaut Courtois : It means a lot to me. I've grown a lot and I hope to continue growing along with these great fans. Graaaccciasss

Susana Gil Rodriguez : Courtois at Atletico 've grown a lot as a goalkeeper, do you think you can beat your own record of 613 minutes without conceding a goals?

Thibaut Courtois : Thanks for the question! The most important thing is that the team wins games. I prefer winning 2-1 than drawing 0-0. Records are good, but the best feeling is to win with the team. Greetings!

Thibaut Courtois : Hahahaha ,I love chips with Curry-Ketchup. You have to try them.

Adrian J. Muñoz : I'm a frustrated keeper, but I want my son to be a great player, I dream that he’ll play for Atletico Madrid someday...What advice would you give me?
