URUGUAYAN MARKS 100 MATCHES FOR THE CLUB

Godin's centenary for Atletico in the League

Diego Godin played his 100th Premier League game with Atletico Madrid in the win at Elche. The defender who came in 2010, has become a real leader at the heart of the defense during the last four seasons.

Diego Godin continues to forge his legend as an Atletico player. In Elche the Uruguayan centre back completed his 100 games in the League for Atletico Madrid. An iconic figure along with two other Uruguayans Correa and Diego Forlan.

The Uruguayan international arrived at the red and whites in the summer of 2010 after a successful three-year spell at Villareal where he accumulated 91 games in the First Division. Teaming up with Miranda, one of the best defensive pairs in the history of our club, the number 5 contributed to the best defence in the Liga BBVA 2012-2013, helping Courtois to be seen as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

In these 100 game Diego Godin started 99 times and scored three goals mainly from set plays.
