HISTORY

  

Borussia Dortmund were founded in 1909 and are nicknamed the Black and Yellow, after their primary colors. They are one of the most successful clubs in Germany with eight Bundesliga titles. They also won their most prestigious trophy in the 1996/97 season: the Champions League.

Dortmund play in the impressive Signal Iduna Park, which seats 65,829 fans. It's known for its match-day atmosphere and has hosted important matches, such as games from the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

COACH

  

Lucien Favre is Dortmund's head coach this season. He's most known for his successful period in charge of Borussia Mönchengladbach.

CURRENT SEASON

  

Favre has only coached Dortmund in one match so far this season, but it was a thrilling 4-1 win over RB Leipzig.
