Gabi: "We have tried to win"
Atlético’s midfielder emphasised the dedication of the team and analysed the match against Athletic.
Gabi appeared before the microphones of Canal+Liga after the goalless tie against Athletic Club. The captain assessed the match at the Calderón: "Atlético de Madrid has always tried to win. We've had controversial plays, but I think that we have had a very clear second half, with many occasions. We have scored goals but they have been disallowed and well, we have to keep working on this path. It is true that a victory would have made things much easier but it is a point and we have to go to Levante to win."
Atlético’s midfielder added that "in the first half hour we have struggled a lot, Bilbao has started strong and then we have gone one better. The forwards were more comfortable and we have created clear chances to score. We will continue to work, we have three games left to win."
Lastly, Gabi announced that the point achieved "is a step forward. On less round to go, we are still 6 or 7 points away, depending on what our rivals do and we will work to be third."
