Gabi: "The only thing on our mind is winning"
Our three captains spoke to the press about our upcoming final in Lyon against Olympique de Marseille
Gabi, Diego Godín and Koke took the stage at the Wanda Metropolitano's auditorium and spoke to the press about the upcoming UEFA Europa League final against Olympique de Marseille during Media Day.
"Many years have passed [since the final in Bucharest]," Godín said. "That's the first trophy we won under Simeone. We're motivated because we're going to play another final and it's an important trophy."
Koke believes our final against Olympique de Marseille will be a tough one and both teams have options to win.
"We know it'll be a very complicated match. They have lots of good players from the midfield up, so we have to be at our 100 percent," he said. "It'll be very complicated because every final is 50-50."
Gabi has lifted one Europa League trophy as Atlético captain exactly six years ago in Bucharest and hopes the team can win the title once again in Lyon.
"With this team's characteristics, we need to win," Gabi said. "The only thing on our minds is winning."
