Gabi: most UEFA appearances for Atlético de Madrid

After playing 10 minutes in Atlético de Madrid’s 1-4 win against Copenhagen, Gabi became our player with the most appearances in European competitions: 72.
Gabi’s first UEFA match with Atlético was on 17 July 2004 against Tescoma Zlin. Since then, he’s defended our shirt in the Champions League (48 matches), Europa League (20 matches), UEFA Super Cup (1 match) and the Intertoto (3 matches).
Also, Koke equalled Raúl García (71) and is just one match away from Gabi’s record. It’s likely both will interchange the record of appearances throughout the season.
