Koke leads the team to victory

Atletico Madrid remains unbeaten in the league. Five wins in five games and Valladolid were the latest victims after a great Koke performance from Koke who set up two goals for Raul Garcia and Diego Costa.

Referee: Álvarez Izquierdo. Showed yellow cards to Sastre (12'), Rossi (52') for the home side and Mario Suárez (16') and Gabi (68') for the visitors.

 Atletico Madrid jumped ran out on to the pitch at the Nuevo Zorrilla looking for another victory to keep them on top of the table next to Barcelona, who had thrashed Rayo Vallecano in the previous match. They came up against a Valladolid who had started a faltering season with four points in the first four games.

Juan Ignacio Martinez’s team were looking for a win in front of their own fans and they started strongly whilst Atletico were slow to get started, taking them 20 minutes to get in to the game. It was a Koke passes after 26 minutes that set up Raul Garcia but the forward missed the ball by just inches.

Not long after a Koke free kick was smashed against the crossbar and the subsequent header from Godin was deflected for a corner. The dead balls from Koke were causeing problem and Atletico Madrid looked dangerous but wnet in to the break at 0-0.

After the break it was Atletico Madrid who came out the strongest, Koke looked for Villa in the 48th minute and the Spaniard went narrowly wide. Then after 55 minutes a corner from the Atleti number 6 was met by Raul Garcia but his header was saved by g Mariño who put it behind for a corner. It was the prelude to the first goal. The next corner from Koke was this time put away by Raul Garcia at the far post with a spectacular header.

In the 72 Diego Costa who put an end to the match after another good ball from Koke making it 0-2. Valladolid triued to get back in to the game but dint create many chances and it was Atleti who almost added to their lead when Cristian Rodriguez forced a save from the keeper and an excellent Mario Suarez shot just missed. Three golden points for Atletico Madrid who have five victories in these first five games.
