Fifth title in three years

Neptune fountain was being prepared hours before the final. The god awaited Atletico impatiently as the team collected the tenth Copa del Rey.It is the fifth time in just three years the fans of Atletico have visited the scene of celebration.

First it was Hamburg. On May 9, 2010, beating Fulham 2-1 in extra time to lift a European trophy, in the first edition of the UEFA Europa League. Atletico played a week after in the final of the Copa del Rey against Sevilla but could not repeat the success, although not be long after that, on August 27, 2010, in Monaco they were crowned Champions of the Super Cup after a 2-0 win over Inter Milan.

Two years after that double, Atletico repeated the feat in Bucharest in the Europa League, after an exhibition from Falcao and all his companions Athletic Bilbao were beaten 3-0. That trophy set up another Super Cup and another win this time against Chelsea by a score of 4-1.

And now Real Madrid are the team that had to watch as Atletico collected the trophy after beating them 2-1 in an intense, exciting match. Atletico collected the tenth Copa del Rey, this time in the Bernabeu. The streets of Madrid were red and white as Neptune welcomed the fans to celebrate once more.
