Atlético Madrid qualified for the King’s Cup round of 16 after beating a combative L'Hospitalet. Atlético came out determined to win the game despite the advantage from the first leg and they never lost face at the match. The first chances arrived early in the game, and Mandžukić’s first one resulted in a goal. The Croatian caught a lose ball in the box to score the first goal of the game. Following that, with all in favour, our team did not speculate with the scoreboard of the qualifying round and sought to gift the fans present at the Vicente Calderón with more goals.

L'Hospitalet kept to the same script throughout the match and on their first approach to the box they tied the fixture with a shot by Alcaraz from outside the box. His shot, deflected by Saúl, made Jan Oblak’s stretch impossible. Our guys rebuilt from the blow to perfection and within minutes were once again ahead on the scoreboard. Mandžukić continued his affair with the goal with a tremendous header after a masterful cross from Koke. In the last minutes, Alcaraz tied the match again with a new from afar. Our team tried without respite, but the game-winning goal did not come. The big positive note of the match was the debut of Keita and Iván Pérez with red and white shirt.
